CHIROPRACTIC SERVICES
SERVICES OVERVIEW
At The Chiropractic Center Of Georgetown, we offer a variety of chiropractic services which promote balance, integrity and integrated function of the spine and neurological mechanism.
New Patient Appointment and Exam
At the initial visit, a detailed exam will be performed to determine your health status and goals. X-rays will be taken in house if needed.
Chiropractic Adjustments
Techniques include: Diversified, Thompson, S.O.T. (Sacro-Occipital Technique), and Activator
Electrical Stimulation
Electrical Stimulation (E-stim) is the application of low frequency electrical therapy for the purpose of pain relief, muscle strength/endurance, spasm reduction, and edema reduction.
Ultrasound
High frequency sound waves cause vibration in molecules of deep tissues. This vibration converts sound waves into heat allowing for a deep heating effect, which encourages blood flow and healing.
Therapeutic Exercise
Rehabilitation and corrective exercise involves conditioning and strengthening specific muscles to support the recovery of injured areas and to correct poor posture.
Soft Tissue Therapy
Manipulation of the soft tissues of the body i.e. muscles, connective tissue/fascia, tendons, ligaments and joints. Soft tissue therapy helps alleviate the soft tissue discomfort associated with every day and occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions.
Myofascial Release
Myofascial release is a safe and effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restriction to eliminate pain and restore motion.
FAKTR (Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab)
Instrument assisted technique uses a designed stainless steel instrument to help aid to identify and treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.
Myofascial Decompression (Cupping)
Decompression of adhesions, which often makes more physiologic sense for fascial mobility and blood flow improvement.
Mechanical Traction
A form of decompression therapy that relieves pressure on the spine. Spinal traction is used to treat herniated discs, sciatica, degenerative disc disease, pinched nerves, and many other back conditions.
Dry Needling
Dry Needling is a form of therapy in which fine needles are inserted into myofascial trigger points (painful knots in muscles), tendons, ligaments or around nerves in order to stimulate a healing a response in painful musculoskeletal conditions.
Piezowave (ShockWave Therapy)
Piezowave Therapy is a non-invasive medical procedure that uses sound waves to treat pain and stimulate healing in muscles and joints such as: Tendinopathy, trigger points, myofascial dysfunction, repetitive stress injuries, enthesopathy, soft tissue injuries, and some arthritic conditions.
